Body In motion (BIM)
A core practice of SULT movement created by Rebekah and Franko. BIM is a whole body/mind practice inspired by a collection of movement modalities, sport and explorative forms. BIM develops strength, mobility and fluidity by utilising the power of play and pleasure through movement. Rarely are two classes the same and often the momentum of the practice is guided by a focus that shifts from class to class or week to week. There are endless places to explore but to name a few these focuses could include a particular mobility, balance or an inversion. BIM is Dynamic and energising, getting you into positions, and providing conundrums that only creativity and play can resolve. A nourishing class in all aspects, you will be invigorated and empowered participants to move and embody a fit of life attitude.
Attire: Comfortable clothing, barefoot or non marking shoes.

Ballet Barre
The Barre class is dedicated to building strength, flexibility, kinesthetics, tone and grace. Ballet Barre is a fabulous foundation to any movement practice. Barre work is refined and technical, it requires a great deal of awareness to achieve and so in its nature it asks of the mover to develop their own appreciation and understanding of their unique body and thus aiding your growth, correcting misalignments, improving posture, eliminating pain and risk of injury and bullet-proofing your core.
Attire: Traditional ballet gear is welcomed (and can feel fun), however anything comfortable, and preferably form fitting suits well.

BIM The Artist
This particularly playful Body In Motion class serves as a space for participants to be guided into a space of reconnecting with their bodies as a tool/medium. How to talk to your body, through your body. Fostering a deeper connection to movement, chaos and expression. Props and tool that are more commonly associated to art rooms such as chalk, clay or charcoal may make an appearance as well as team participation and group creative problem solving. Each week expect yourself to be exploring themes such as time, distance, and ‘the everyday object’ as we endeavour to find new ways of reconnect with our bodies as both tools and medium. Attire : comfortable clothing easy to move in and that will be okay to get marked my art supplies.

Capoeira
Capoeira offers an immersive movement experience inspired by the dynamic martial arts practice based in a rich Afro-Brazilian culture, specifically of Angolan roots. Capoeira incorporates dance, acrobatics, spine mobility and music. Capoeira will elevate your agility, rhythm, strength, coordination, balance, and self-expression. Capoeira is a dynamic movement practice and inversions, as well as multiple turns are common practice.

Contact improvisation
Contact Improvisation is, at its heart, an open-ended, creative conversation/dance between two or more bodies, usually in contact. We spend time on the floor, on our feet and in the air, learning how to share points of gravity, balances and lifts. It is an exceptional practice for anyone wanting to soften their movement and improve their bodily awareness.

flow

BIM Flow
Flow is a discipline that will enhance your coordination, flexibility, strength and mobility range. Incorporating mobility and resistance training with fluidity drills to generate a strong mind-body connection and wider range to access. Moving through flow sequences requires both softening and endurance which is why it so wonderfully unlocks stiffness and pain within the body. To see what flow practice we are focusing on today, jump on our socials or simply get in touch.

Latin sessions
Each week in our SULT Latin Sessions we will dive into a open level master classes discussing and unpacking techniques and elements that makeup the wonderful artform that is Latin movement. These focuses shift from week to week and could incorporate elements like turns, balance, rhythm, or particular spinoffs such as Rumba. Then, for the second half of class we will immerse ourself in the social dancing aspect of Latin movement, applying these newfound skills. The tea station will be open and in true tribute to the cultural roots of Latin movement the community is the heart of the class. All levels welcome, no partner needed. A space to build confidence as a mover, embrace the rich culture and build connections to our vibrant community. Curious about what is being covered this week? Get in touch or jump onto our socials.
